What’s your slow down?

Knowing how and when to slow your Pointing Dog down will help you harvest more birds.

Young guns: Teaching ground discipline without shutting them down. Have some else shoot and control the situation, setting them up for success is your job.

All aged: Like Mustangs let ’em rip! and be ready to tap the breaks if they are blowing or blinking birds, an easy simple reminder is all it takes.  Bring them back into the hunt! Don’t allow running to run.

If they become ‘wild-bird-nuts’. Recall the dog and settle it down, control the next cast and watch.  If they are just too crazed then pull them off the ground for a major reset.
