What’s your slow down?

Knowing how and when to slow your Pointing down will help you harvest more birds.

Young guns: Teaching ground discipline without shutting them down. Have someone else shoot and control the situation, setting the dog up for success is your job.

All aged: Like Mustangs let ’em rip! and be ready to tap the breaks if they are blowing or blinking birds, an easy simple correction/reminder is all it takes.  Bring them back into the hunt! Don’t allow running to run or hunting for themselves.

If they become ‘wild-bird-nuts’. Recall the dog and settle it down, control the next cast and watch them closely.  If they are just too crazed then pull them off the ground for a major reset.
