It’s not the dog’s fault or the lack of training, it comes down to the handler not holding a Hard Line. Steady to flush, trigger, fall and retrieve is mastered through a lot of training hours and time in the field, but it’s all lost when you don’t follow through.
A Hard Line is not over stimulating your dog (never do that!), it’s about following a principle and maintaining a stick guideline – believe me most people fail and that’s the hard truth.
You want a field trail pointing dog that only hunts Upland birds with you. I get it but your hunting traits might have to change.
